In a nutshell, the core activity in this routine is 'sitting down'.
I'm up most mornings around 8 o'clock and take my place on a chair in the garden with a cup of tea. If I'm lucky my neighbours will also be pottering around their garden so there's a chance of some company and conversation. I've been staying in this seat in the garden until around lunch time when the heat and sun become too much at which point I'm then driven inside to a seat in front of the television.
Afternoons are then spent flicking around the channels looking for something to watch, before settling for Jeff Stelling and Rachel Riley as Countdown starts at 3.25pm.
The weekend is the same as a weekday. I've lost track of what day it is.
I imagine this is what retirement feels like.
Wimbledon. Watch Wimbledon. You know you want to.
