I won't pretend that I follow cricket very closely these days but nevertheless I was shocked to see that England lost to Holland last night in the World Twenty/20 at Lords Cricket Ground in London. Despite not being able to field our strongest side I would still have expected this to be a comfortable victory for the home team.
It seems to me that in the there's been a lot of money coming into cricket - and particularly English cricket - in recent years and I can't help but feel that some players performances, not to mention their fitness, has suffered at the same time.
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm right and it's just a coincidence.
Maybe.
