Blog Roundup
I've not really had the time over the last few days to post anything meaningful ('when do you ever?' you are thinking) but here's a few more-random-than-usual random thoughts from the burrow:I followed a large lorry for 15 minutes on my drive into work this morning - on the back of the vehicle was the company name and under that 'Walking Floor Specialists'. Walking Floor Specialists. What on earth is a Walking Floor?
My elderly next door neighbour remarked the other day that I'd lost weight - I pointed out that I'd actually gained weight since joining the gym as muscle is heavier than fat. The look on her face told me she appreciated being corrected.
Speaking of the gym, I've made a bit of a breakthrough on that front in the past few days: twenty-five years of sitting on the sofa means, amongst other things, that I'm susceptible to shin splits - sharp pains in my shins - but this week I've been able to complete not only the basic walking/running programme but also, for the first time, the extended warm-down programme.
Andy Gray on Sky Sports made the comment that although FC Porto have won the Portugese league for the past 3 seasons and will likely win it again this year 'it's not the English Premier League'. Factually correct but I felt the point could have been made a little less arrogantly: no wonder the European football community hate the English (and he's not even English).
Megan Fox has apparently signed-on to play the lead role in the forthcoming comic-book to film production Fathom - mmmmmmmm.
Following first and second practice at the Chinese Grand Prix it looks like Jenson Button and BraunGP are again likely to be 'there or there about' - good luck to them. It'll be another early morning start for me tomorrow - third practice starts at 4am with qualifying underway at 7am. Likewise, the race itself starts at 8am on Sunday.
Normal blogging service will be resumed over the weekend. Promise or threat: you decide.
